The cast of ‘Dune: Part Two’ has expanded with the addition of Lea Seydoux.

In the sci-fi sequel, the 36-year-old actress is slated to portray Lady Margot and will join an all-star cast that also includes returning performers Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, and Zendaya.

Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Austin Butler are among the new actors joining Denis Villeneuve as he writes, directs, and produces the film.

The sequel’s filming is anticipated to start later this year, and the blockbuster is scheduled to be released in October 2023.

Additionally, Javier Bardem, who will reprise his role as Stilgar, said that viewers will be in for a surprise when the film drops.

Los Angeles (AP) — Lea Seydoux has joined the cast of Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated “Dune: Part Two.” Seydoux, who has been in films such as “Blue Is The Warmest Color,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Midnight In Paris,” and “No Time To Die,” will play Lady Margot in the sequel, according to Variety.

In order to save the future of his family and his people, Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet), a smart and gifted young man born into a grand destiny beyond his comprehension, must travel to Arrakis, the most perilous planet in the universe.

Atreides will fight alongside the Fremen to liberate the desert world of Arrakis from the control of the House of Harkonnen in “Dune: Part Two,” which picks up where Part One left off.

In Herbert’s book, Lady Margot is Paul Atreides’ key ally in his conflict with the Harkonnens.

Count Fenring, Lady Margot’s husband, has yet to be cast by the film’s creators.

For the follow-up, Chalamet will be joined by his co-stars: Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgard, and Dave Bautista.

Austin Butler, Christopher Walken, and Florence Pugh, who plays Princess Irulan in the sequel, join Seydoux as other newcomers.

Princess Irulan, the Emperor’s daughter, and Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, the presumed heir to the Harkonnen family, will be played by Pugh and Butler, respectively. Walken will play Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV.

The anticipated start date for “Dune” Part II is later this year, with an anticipated release date of October 20, 2023.

The sequel’s script will be co-written by Jon Spaihts and directed and produced by Denis Villeneuve.
