Warriors star Draymond Green drops bold prediction on Lakers’ No. 35 pick Max Christie

The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t have a high-end selection in the 2022 NBA draft. They didn’t even have one days leading up to it. But after making a move to acquire an early second-round pick from the Orlando Magic, LA was able to nab Michigan State Spartan Max Christie. The One Golden State Warriors star was particularly excited about the move.

Fellow MU alum Draymond Green was quick to react to the Lakers’ selection. The Golden State Warriors forward can see Christie following down the same path that he did, being taken outside of the first round and using that as motivation to become a stellar player.

“Another 35th pick from Michigan State. History says he’s going to be an All-Star,” said Draymond Green on the Lakers’ 35th pick.

If Max Christie can carve out a similar career as Draymond Green on the Lakers, the purple and gold faithful will be right there behind him in support.

One key difference between Green and Christie, however, is maturity level entering their rookie seasons. Green joined the Warriors as a four-year prospect from Michigan State, developing his game season after season until he was fully ready for the NBA game.

Christie on the other hand joins a veteran-laden Lakers roster after just one year in East Lansing. He still lacks polish to become a true impact player at the next level on day one, but has the scoring ability and versatility to be a quality pick at 35 for the Lakers.
