The waiting game between the Brooklyn Nets and other teams continues this offseason, as the Kevin Durant trade speculation has only just begun. A report recently emerged that the Nets would be planning on using their leverage with Durant, meaning a deal shouldn’t be expected anytime soona sentiment that ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski also expressed during an appearance on NBA Today. That’s not the only thing Woj said though. The NBA insider dropped an eye-opening take on a possible Kevin Durant trade to the Toronto Raptors, per Alex Seixeiro of City News Toronto.
Woj says the Nets are not in a rush and doesn’t believe any trade is imminent. Also: ”The most seemless trade for Brooklyn is with Toronto. That’s the least complicated deal and people should keep watching as the Raptors stay involved in these conversations.” #KevinDurant

Woj said that the “most seamless trade for Brooklyn is with Toronto.” He also termed the Raptors as the “least complicated deal.” He’s not wrong, as any Durant trade with the Phoenix Suns, believed to be the Nets star’s preferred destination, would have to begin with a sign-and-trade of Suns center Deandre Ayton.
The Miami Heat, another potential Durant destination would likely need to part ways with too many desirable players to even land the Nets star. But it’s a different story for the Raptors.
With an aggressive front office executive in Masai Ujiri, who has already proven he isn’t afraid to swing for the fences with a superstar player (see Kawhi Leonard trade), and a bevy of players the Nets would love to receive in return, the Raptors are a logical Durant destination.
Whether it’s rising two-way star OG Anunoby, established All-Star Pascal Siakam or even last year’s talented rookie Scottie Barnes, Toronto clearly has all the firepower they need to make the deal.
Perhaps Woj is right. Maybe we should keep an eye on the Raptors in the Durant sweepstakes.
